I wanted to really grit this guy out, but with the 'from the future' flavor. Added some spikes to the toe and heel of the boots, tweaked together a simply bad-ass shoulder harness system, complete with spikes ala the good ole WCW/WWF Road Warriors Hawk and Animal, not to mention a tire tread shoulder pad ala Mad Max the Road Warrior!


Detailed up all the beautiful little details, and added chain to the already aforementioned bad-ass harness.

So, a little more about figure 1 from Wave 1 of Pearsonic Productions Presents:

For those who don't already know, the Red Hulk is a relatively new character created to mess with the original Hulk, Bruce Banner. As the story has progressed over the last 20 issues or so of the main Hulk title, Red Hulk's try identity still hasn't been revealed, (Arrrgh!). On top of that, a Red She-Hulk has mysteriously appeared


too! Anywho, here's what my Rulk is made of:

Pearsonic Productions Presents: Wave 1

So, the big day has finally arrived! The release of my 1st wave of custom action figures, my Pearsonic Productions Presents line ! For the first wave, I present to you: Red Hulk aka Rulk (What I call,) Cable - Road Warrior from the Future Modern Bishop Mr. Freeze Sinestro Corps Predator with construct and my 'chase' figure, with additional pack-in figure: Pirate Deadpool with Parrot Suit Bob Action Feature! Make Parrot Suit Bob flap his wings! All of these are for sale! The first auction will be a shorter one, (from April 27th - May 2nd,) but a few others may last until May 4th, 2010. So, get ready to bid, and get ready to own a piece of history! The launch of my Custom waves: Pearsonic Productions Presents: Marvel - DC - and more!

Hello again ebayers and fans of comics & action figures, (and maybe a few fans of my own?)



Today marks a special day, one where I've decided to announce an ongoing creation and release of custom figures made by me for sale exclusively through ebay!



I plan on providing better versions of characters many fans, (myself included) were disappointed with, (we're looking at the likes of Ultron and Magneto,) team, era or costume specific versions of characters, as well as characters all us fans can't believe escaped production and therefore our shelves, (Jean Grey, The Wrecking Crew - HELL-Oh!) and teams left un-completed: Alpha Flight, X-Men, JLA.



I will suprise those following what I guess I can call 'my line,' Pearsonic Productions Presents, by building/creating something out of the norm: a 12 in figure, maybe a Masters of the Universe fig, maybe a vehicle or a diorama/playset! You'll never know unless you keep up with me.



What I can and will reveal right now to whet appetites, to spark rumouring if you will, is what some of my focus will be on:

X-Men, (as well as a Wolverine sub line)

Deadpool (I love this guy!)



Villians



and to add to the ranks of: Age of Apocolypse



I also have a "Secret" wave planned that I feel will delight the most nostalgic, hard core collector fans.



I created a Facebook profile just for this occasion! I also invite fans to submit their thoughts and votes towards what I should create for future parts of waves or suprises! Inspire me people! Some of my best work comes from when I'm overwhelmed with inspiration!

I will try to sell figures in a wave of 3-6 figures total, (all listed for sale at the same time, or one after the other.) You never pay extra for mailing - I charge my cost straight across. I do combine shipping, and will ship anywhere in the world. I prefer tracking on every outbound package, if you decline to pay for the trackable option, I am not liable for lost items.

Why haven't people, (you,) seen more of me and my work on 'the scene' - aka internet?



I've been a busy person for a long time, and have only recently had the chance to shift time to allow me to focus on more time spent on something I love to do: customize!



If you ever meet me in real life, (maybe you have?) I can assure you I'm not the egotistical type. My stuff may not be the best ever, hell, I see a tonne of awesome customizers out there. What I can tell you is though it's made with love, and pride by a true fan of the comic world. I do my best to take measures to prevent paint rub on my customs, but my arthritic hands sometimes only allow for so much figure dis-assembly.



I am trying to save up money for a number of things and am hoping people buy/bid knowing they are really helping out a regular guy who really appreciates it. If I'm lucky enough, I'll be able to share what I was able to do with the proceeds. (I need more tattoo work, and my GF's birthday isn't too far off...

My Colbert Report Report aka Experience - 18 Feb 2010

Wow - where to start? Well, how about.......

Thursday, Feb 11th - I heard via The Colbert Report, that he'd be appearing in Vancouver for 2 days to film segments for his show. The monment I heard that, the ever unexpected spark of inspiration sprang to life within me: I had to make his visit to Vancouver a memorable one, marked with a one-of-a-kind gift from a local artist, (ME)>

I could not however start on my project until the weekend was through......due to celebrations for Valentine's Day, and a 5 year anniversary with my girlfriend. So, first thing Monday, I began cobbling together my (hopeful,) contribution to the Colbert Mantle.....(his shelf of gifts & achievements).

Some of the sh!tty stuff that made this a more difficult task to complete: My main weapon in my custom creating arsenal - my dremel, broke to some degree, making bit changing a difficult task. Secondly, my camera crapped out on me, leaving me without the opportunity to photograph my WIP, as well as my finished product.

I was originally aiming to be done and down @ False Creek for Wednesday the 17th, but the perfectionist in me had me pining over details of 'completed-ness' until 2:30pm.

So, everything ready, I set our this morning (18th Feb 2010) with goods in bag to give to Mr. Stephen Colbert. I gained a lot of interest from photographers around me, as well as a short interview with a local cable reporter (from Shaw.) For some of those taking pictures, they said they would email me pics of me and my present later on, (fingers crossed.) Sadly, these are all I have for now, (I have some phone pics, but not how to get them off my phone!) *EDIT/UPDATE* Got pics off my cellphone of the almost 100% done figures a few touches were still not pictured (Gloves and shins painted light blue, sculpted arrow tips added and painted on the 3 sewing needles extruding from the left hand,arrow tips painted metallic red-silver-blue, arrow shafts painted metallic gold, nose painted metallic gold.)

What I created:

- Stephen Colbert action figure in suit with removable, magnetic head

- Costumed alter ego whom I dubbed StealthEagle with removable magnetic head

Accessories included were:

- Desk with chair

- Mini Colbert Report and Pearsonic posters

- Removable Ameri-eagle (like the one from his intro)

- Olympic torch

- American flag

- Captain America shield

- The Colbert mount aka Ameri-griffen

- The sword of Colbert

I managed to get down to the venue before he arrived. I was lucky enough to be standing right were his car would pull up and let him out.

Upon his appearance: NOTHING! Walked right by me, no nothing.

I decided to hang out there for the duration of his filming,to see if upon his departure, I'd have better luck. He signed a good number of autographs upon his exit, but I didn't even get a direct look from him, or a comment on my action figure gift to him!

I did manage to finally talk with a rep from the show, (Regan B. - you're my lady of luck! - ) whom after having a moment to take in and digest the gift I had for Colbert, (she seemed fairly impressed,) said she could put it into the hands of the producers of the show, whom would get it to Mr. Colbert.

So, here's to hoping my 3 days of intense work gets to where I intended it to go to: The hands of Stephen Colbert, and onto his shelf to hang out with his various awards, and his Captain America shield.

Marvel Legends - Electro

Well, the next custom kinda put itself together, much like my Joe Fixit did some time ago..................I give you: Electro




I was happy to just mod the arms from the action feature edition of Electro that came out late in the SMC line. As I opened the package, I went through my regular paces of checking all articulation, and *crack* his ab crunch breaks! Customs gets sidelined for a bit, I find the Sinister Six version, get it at a decent price, and was re-motivated to get my custom done.


I really liked the sculpted details of the SMC version, and did what I've come to call my 'tracing' sculpting technique - meaning, I press some mixed up greenstuff onto whatever details I'm trying to duplicate, make a makeshift mold. Go back to it, oil it up, press more green stuff into it, and whallah! sculpted details!


Did this for front and back costume details. Used a HML Vision for the hips up. Transferred the legs, head, and lightning bolts from the gloves onto Vision. Was a good choice for the base to alleviate any paint rub.


Wanted to add some electrifying energy effects. Some clear twist ties, Tamiya clear paints, and a glue gun later I had some, (made them so they come in yellow, green, blue.......or some are layered colour of green base, with yellow on top.)


Really like how he came together - I think the body proportions look a lot better now.

The ONE, The ONLY......The Pearsonic Cup !!!

I give you - The one, the ONLY........The Pearsonic Cup!


A small fortune slowly but surely made it's way into building this masterpiece. I wanted to build a trophy that embodied all that we here share a love for: articulated action figures, but also cater to the purpose of what I was building it for: for all who play in The Pearsonic Cup to drool over the chance to have their name grace a puck, and have it displayed proudly amongst their most loved action figures.



I mean eh, I could be wrong, but as far as I know, this is the first ever internet fantasy league trophy ever created to be won, and physically awarded to the winner. It is much like the Stanley Cup in the sense that the winners, (in this case, singular, winner,) gains temporary possession of the trophy until the following season is completed, and the new winner is then next to bask in the glory of The Pearsonic Cup for their epic victory.



Here is the conceptual drawing of mine from the start of the 1st season, (2008-2009), when I first started to conjure up what The Pearsonic Cup would materialize into:






What it is made out of:


Base: 8 real, solid, galvanized pucks, 1 of which is a game used Canuck puck......and another 3 faom-rubber pucks.


2 threaded metal rods from an old CD rack, a plastic piece from said rack and 2 screws.


Upper base: From a Mcfarlane Slapshot figure, stand from a Final Fantasy figure.

Head: Movie Ghostrider Caretaker Upper body and crotch: TNA Petey Williams....with custom aluminum wrapped knuckles - Hanson brothers style! Ball hips and legs: TNA Homicide


Accessories:


Helmet, stick, gloves, skates: McFaralne Todd Bertuzzi


Octopus: (took forever to find this guy, in scale no less.......Had to buy a multi-pack of sea creatures for $10) from a kids store.


Stanley Cup: Mark Messier figure (NHL Legends)


Glasses: DCD Tim Hunter (tape on glasses is real hockey tape)


Belt: Million Dollar Man


Upper body pads: Evil Ash shoulder pads mounted onto a Bullseye collar, sculpted over. Mr.Sinister straps for actual straps



Initially, I hadn't planned on putting the final bit of detail on him...... (the maple leaf and cracks in the skull,) but I braved the risk and was very pleasantly suprised to see myself pull it off flawlessly. I think it really puts the finishing touch on the figure, and the trophy itself.

After MUCH debate, I knew there was only ONE who belonged tattooed onto Pearsonic's back: Number Four - Bobby Orr! Pearsonic is a TRUE wORRior



If it isn't obvious, A LOT of work went into this and it's something I'm quite proud of. I would this to become, over time, a much sought after award within our Fwoosh community, not necessarily the internet abroad. The one thing that is a pre-requisite for competing for it: You must be an avid action figure enthusiast. So for those who cared to read through all of my long-winded breakdown yet again, thank you - you win kudos from me.
